He earned doctor of medicine degree with honors from the Madras university (1986). Obtained M.S degree from Mysore University (1989). Trained to be a surgeon in the Republic of Ireland from 1989 -1996.
He obtained FRCS from England in 1995. His passion for minimal Access Surgery grew and joined Professor Alfred Cuscheri in Nine well Hospital, Scotland. He did master's degree in minimal access surgery from the Dundee University, Scotland.
He also spent one full year doing research in laparoscopic handles and submitted a thesis in 2002 He was appointed as a consultant colorectal surgeon in the republic of Ireland from 1998- 2001. Later appointed as a consultant colorectal surgeon in Queen Margaret hospital Dunfermline, Scotland Later move down to south to establish a laparoscopic centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Bermingham, where he has done around 240 cases of colorectal cancers laparoscopically. This work was tremendous and his work was recognized and the association of laparoscopic surgery (ALS) made him a preceptor and went around various parts of UK to train surgeons.
An avid researcher, his interests include colon cancer screening and prevention, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), teaching medicine, and clinical medical ethics. Was a supervisor for several research projects and clinical trials in Dundee. He has contributed peer-reviewed publications, review articles, and abstracts to the medical literature Presently he is in Bangalore and working as a minimal access surgeon in Wockhardt Hospital , Bannergatta Road, Bangalore, India.
