Dr. S.S. Doda did his MD in Radio-diagnosis from Sardar Patel Medical College, Bikaner in 1981. He was one of the first few responsible for pioneering WHOLE BODY CT SCAN, way back in January 1983 at Delhi Scan Research Centre, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. For almost 5 years he actively pursued the science of CT Scan by traveling all over the country delivering independent lectures and taking part in major radiological and other specialties conferences. In 1984, he took a 6 weeks fellowship in Advanced CT Applications in various institutions in UK, namely, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London; New Castle General Hospital, New Castle upon Tyne and North Manchester General Hospital, Manchester.

In 1987, he left Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to start his own Ultrasound Clinic and simultaneously joined the CT Scan Division as a consultant at Diwan Chand Aggarwal Imaging Research Centre. In 1991, MRI was started at this centre and he went for a 3 weeks fellowship at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University, St. Louis, USA. In 1997 he started Whole Body Color Doppler at his clinic. He also attended 2 weeks fellowship in Color Doppler at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA in January, 1998. During all these years, he had the fortune to work with leading luminaries of the world in Radiology like Dr. Rodney Reznek of UK, Dr. Stuart Sagel and Dr. Barry Goldberg of USA. He also attended RSNA, Chicago- the Largest World Conference in radiology in the years 1991 and 1996. He was invited as one of the two representatives from India to attend the Experts Meet in Imaging at Tokyo in 1999 to discuss Newer Advances in Ultrasound. In the year 2000, he was again invited to guide the advances in Color Doppler in a symposium attended by Eminent Imaging Personalities of the World at Singapore.

He has been closely associated with the continuing medical education programmes and various other activities of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association as its Treasurer,1994; Joint Secretary-Head quarters 1995-2000; and PRESIDENT INDIAN RADIOLOGICAL & IMAGING ASSOCIATION (2006). He has organized several State and National Level Conferences and also has been a part of organizing committees of the Asia Oceanian and International Congresses of Radiology held in New Delhi.

For his services to the Indian Radiology, he was awarded the Highest Academic Award. “Sir J.C. Bose Memorial Oration, 1998”.
