September to March
Summer in Delhi is no joke - from April the temperature climbs relentlessly to more than 45°C (113°F) in May and June and the heat doesn't really abate until October. Dust storms called loo sweep in from Rajasthan with considerable fury. The arrival of the monsoon, at the end of June, brings intense humidity - the murder rate usually peaks in this month.
From November to March is the best time to visit, with cool but sunny weather. Also, Holi, one of the most exuberant Hindu festivals, takes place around this time, in February or March. October sees the end of the monsoon, but is reasonably pleasant, although the days can still be pretty hot. Nights can be quite chilly in December and January.

Climate
Delhi is a city of great climatic extremes. Summer, from April till the end of June is scorching hot with day temperatures rising beyond 450 C. Monsoon showers bring some respite, though in recent years, rainfall has become erratic. Winter stretches from the end of November till March. Temperatures fall substantially down to about 30 C at the peak of winter.
Best Time to Visit
October to March is the best time to visit Delhi although given its extreme weather, December and January can be cold and foggy. March is pleasant and exuberant thanks to colourful and enthusiastic Holi celebrations. The monsoon lasts from June to September when the weather can get humid.
Weather
Delhi experiences hot, dry summers with maximum temperatures rising to 44°C. Similarly, it witnesses an extreme winter with minimum temperatures ranging between 2°C and 16°C . The city often comes to a standstill at this time, enveloped by thick fog on some mornings. Rainfall varies between 400-600 mm. in the monsoon.
