Indian Investment Centre

The Indian Investment Centre, a Government of India organisation, with more than three decades of rich experience in investment promotion, is the first contact point and is the single window agency for authentic information or any assistance that may be required for investments, technical collaborations and joint ventures. All its services are free of charge.

Direct Foreign Investment

The Indian Investment Centre promotes wider knowledge and understanding in the capital exporting countries of the world, of conditions, laws, policies, procedures and incentives pertaining to investment and the infrastructural facilities available and of investment opportunities in India.

It advises and assists foreign entrepreneurs on matters pertaining to financial and technical collaborations in India.

It functions as a single reference point for foreign investment projects and assists Indian and foreign entrepreneurs in meeting the procedural requirements of project approvals and in over-coming bottlenecks, if any, in the process for implementation of the project.

It advises foreign investors on setting up industrial projects in India by providing information regarding investment environment and opportunities, the Government industrial and foreign investment policies, taxation laws and facilities and incentives and assists them in identifying collaborators in India.

It assist Indian companies in identifying source of capital and technology abroad facilitating foreign collaborations. It undertakes promotional work and guides entrepreneurs abroad through designated officers in the Indian Diplomatic Missions and other organisations.

The main complex of the Centre is laid out with three wings, on the north, south and west, each designed to serve a separate function. While cultural programmes are open to the interested public in the south wing, the Centre offers residential and catering facilities to members and their guests in the north wing. The lounge, dining hall and services are located on the west side, overlooking the Lodi gardens.

Facilities at the Centre and the Annexe now include thirty-nine single rooms and forty-two double rooms and two Fellow Flats. Most rooms at the main complex open directly on to the lawns or the Lily Pond on the ground floor, and they are provided with private verandahs on the first and second floors. All guest rooms are centrally air-conditioned, and provided with telephones, television and internet connections.

The main dining hall at the Centre is perhaps one of the first in the city to be designed as a hexagonal room, with three of the four sides glassed, opening out to overlook the Lodi gardens. Wide spacious windows give the experience of a wrap-around sensation of trees and walkways--of being in harmony with nature.

The Centre's beautiful and low-profile buildings express, as the architect Joseph Allen Stein himself said, the 'informal or romantic approach, where each function seeks out its own expression'.
