Jaipur is perhaps one of those few cities which still boasts of a tonga - a horse drawn carriage and cycle rickshaws. You have to bargain with the driver to get a cheap ride though.For those who prefer motorised wheels the auto rickshaws are the best bet. Make sure that the meters work before you begin the trip. For those who would like to ride in comfort and willing to splurge, day cabs, rental taxis are also easily available. Should you wish too you can squeeze your sight seeing trip into two days, that would work well if you are on a budget, the main city itself, is best explored on foot, right from the walled villages to those where the craftsmen create mind boggling silver jewelery and pottery. Jaipur Airport, Sanganer, is at a distance of around 11km from the city centre with direct flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Aurangabad, and some other cities from Jaipur. Jaipur is also connected by train to all the major parts of the country. The Shatabdi Express provides a fast, air-conditioned rail service. Other direct connections to Jaipur are from Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Secunderabad, Agra, Lucknow, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Jaipur is also well connected by road to various parts of India. The Delhi-Jaipur national highway allows a smooth, pleasant drive and Rajasthan roadways runs regular AC and Deluxe Coaches from Delhi.Air
The Sanganer Airport is 15 km out of the city. It is well connected to all major cities in the country. There are regular flights to Mumbai, Udaipur, Kolkata and New Delhi from here. Road
Jaipur is linked by the National Highways 8 and 11. The national highway number 8 links Jaipur directly to New Delhi and 11 links Jaipur to Agra. There are regular bus services to Agra (230 km) and Delhi (261 km). The journey is quite decent by road saving a few bad patches. And there's some awesome food on the way too, stop at any of the dhabas and get your first bite of dhal-bhatti and puran poli.Linked by NH 8 and NH 11. Delhi is just 262km.away.

Rail
The railway station, is situated in the heart of the city and has trains chugging out to all major cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata. The Palace on Wheels is the best option to travel to this royal city. It would an expensive trip, but the experience on the train makes it all worth it.There is a special luxury train, the palace on wheels, which starts from Delhi every Wednesday from September to April, on a round trip of Rajasthan, the first stop being Jaipur and special trains like the shatabdi Express and Intercity Express ply regularly.
Railway Stations
Indian railways connect Jaipur to almost all major cities of the country. There are three stops close to MNIT: one on Durgapura, about 3 km from MNIT, from where one can hire a taxi to reach MNIT, another at GhandhiNagar railway station, one km away from MNIT, one can hire a taxi or take bus no. 7 and 17 to reach MNIT.The main railway station is about 13 km from MNIT, one can take a taxi or bus no 7 to reach MNIT
Arrival and departure
Jaipur is connected by Indian Airlines and Jet Airways with Delhi (40 minutes) Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Mumbai and Kolkata. Jaipur's Sanganer Airport is 15 kms from downtown. Indian Airlines: Tonk Road (Tel: 743500) Jet Airways, M.I. Road (Tel 412222). An excellent connection from Delhi is by the Shatabdi Express (4 ½ hrs).
