'The City of Snake God'. Thiruvananthapuram is the capital of the lovely Indian state of Kerala. It is called 'the city of Snake god'. Caressed by the Arabian Sea at the west, it is a popular transit destination for Indians and foreigners alike who like to visit south India. Thiruvananthapuram is an important entry into India with sommunication link to Maldives, Sri Lanka and many countries to the west of Arabian Sea. The Fort area of the town lies on the southern end of MG Road which also houses the Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple. To the northern part of this road is the main shopping district of the city and the colonial Secretariat building.
